I strongly disagree with this proposal. I have an answering machine and Voice Mail. I pay a monthly fee to the phone company for Voice Mail service. I am also charged for each incoming call AND I am charged when I call my Voice Mail to retrieve messages. I feel that AGAIN this is an invasion of my rights. I certainly will not be happy to be charged for these calls when the message left on the Voice Mail is unsolicited in the first place. When will these Telemarketers get the message that some people just plain DO NOT WANT TO BE BOTHERED! I am one of those people! On the other hand, if Voice Mail customers are given the option of declining as the Electronic Privacy Information Center suggests, the issue would be more fair. Thank you for your consideration.
