Comments:
I object to the proposed rule change and ask that it not be implemented. Before the current Do Not Call rule took effect, a significant number of the nuisance calls we received were prerecorded messages, which are just as unwelcome as uninvited calls from live persons. If FTC does proceed with the rulemaking, then I ask that it consider requiring telemarketers to obtain permission from individuals BEFORE placing calls to those individuals, rather than requiring those who receive unwanted calls to opt out AFTER nuisance calls have been received.
