Commissioners: I strongly oppose any rule change which allows the use of pre-recorded calls in telemarketing, regardless of prior business relationship. I find such calls to be significantly more intrusive than telemarketing calls from live persons. I also urge you not to relax call abandonment standards without careful consideration. As a consumer, I think the proper goal of telemarketing regulation is to ensure that my time is interrupted only by valuable, desired phone calls. If I am interrupted only to be greeted by a dead line because the telemarketer has abaondoned the call, the regulatory system has failed. Thank you for listening to my comment.
