I do not wish the FTC to modify the Telemarketing Sales Rule that stipulates telemarketers limit dead-air calls to less than 3% of the total. The Do-Not-Call list has improved my life by reducing the number of intrusive and unwanted telemarketing calls. Prerecorded calls are especially unpleasant as they require immediate action by me to answer the phone and whether ot not there is aq message they are unwanted. I do not believe prerecorded calls are a service to all customers. If companies wish to stay in touch with their customers they can use mail, which is much less intrusive for people who do not wish such messages.
