Comments:
I am adamantly opposed to any relaxation of limits on telemarketers. More and more, I am receiving pre-recorded calls on my cell phone. Not only is this annoying, it is dangerous, because the calls sometimes come while I am driving. Because I am on-call 24/7 with my employer, I am required to answer. These callers hang up if asked to place my number on their do-not-call list. On my home phone, I go to considerable expense to block unwanted calls by subscribing to a "privacy manager" service. This should not be necessary. I am opposed to ALL telemarketing, on the grounds that telemarketers shift costs to private telephone service that I pay for and over which I am entitled to 100 percent control, with no commercial intrusion whatsoever permitted.
