I am unalterably opposed to any amendment that will allow telemarketers to call me. I am especially annoyed by pre-recorded telemarketing messages because there is no way to contact the caller to let them know to remove your number from their sucker list; and on the off chance that they provide such a number during the call, you have to listen to their entire spiel before you can get it. How about making ALL pre-recorded marketing pitches illegal, rather than amending the call abandonment rules to expand the reach of this modern pox? And, while I'm making suggestions for legislation that will better the world, how about requiring ALL telemarketers to get their customers to opt-in before they call? I generally don't want marketing phone calls from ANY company, even if I have purchased something from them before. While you're at it, remove the exemption that politicians have... there were some days during the run-up to this last election when my phone was unusable due to the number of pre-recorded politions calling for my support. Thank you.
