My understanding is the effective change in the rule will be to permit the expansion of telemarketing calls despite requesting that I requested that I receive no calls by placing myself on the "no call" list. I in fact want no calls from any telemarketer including those that I have a casual or intimate relationship. I and all consumers want telemarketers and companies to request my affirmative permission for their annoying and intrusive calls. And since the purpose is to conform with the FCC, why not have the FCC conform to the FTC? The last thing I want to do is go to my phone to answer a telemarketer, and the very very last thing to pick up the phone and hear a recorded message. Apparently the best thing is do nothing.
