My phone number receives at least one silent call EVERY SINGLE DAY. Although each call may be from a separate company such that no single company is breaking the current law, I am well above my legal limit in RECEIVING silent calls. The relaxation of the enforcement period from a per-day basis to a 30-day period would prove to be absolutely paralyzing as I would have to pick up the phone everytime a computerized war-dialer picks my number out of their favorites list. Do most Americans wonder whether the next call is from a beloved Grandma or a silent empty receiver? Do we take the chance not to answer the phone because we do not, once again, wish to hear silence? I believe the current law is already too relaxed as the entire business concept of telemarketing calls treads upon our Privacy as Americans. Americans receive advertisements through the mail, which we can choose when and where to consider their offers, but the telemarketeers are forcing us out of our yards, couches, bathrooms, kitchens, dinner tables and beds to listen to sales pitches that, really, only benefit the callers. How can this have happened to us? This should not be allowed to continue. Thanks for your time, pyt
