Please do NOT make it any easier for telemarketers to bombard consumers. I have already signed up for both the Mass. and federal do not call lists, and am still getting telemarketer calls. When it's a person, I can at least tell them to go away and not bother me anymore. If automated calls were allowed, I would have to proactively go after them to get me off their list, and I find that unacceptable. I'm already inconvenienced any time I answer the phone and find a telemarketer on the other end. I certainly don't want to be deluged with calls from a machine -- and you KNOW that if this were allowed, it would be grossly abused in very short order. I understand the desire to get the FCC and FTC policies in sync -- I'd encourage this! -- but by all means, please (please!) explore the possibility of going with the tougher restrictions, not more lenient. Sincerely, Stefan Foerster
