To Whom it may concern at the FTC: I registered my name and telephone numbers on the Do Not Call List for a reason. I do not want to receive ANY calls from ANY telemarketer, even if it is a prerecorded message from companies that I have an established relationship with. I don't need to be notified of sales events or coupons. I can watch TV, read the newspaper, subscribe to mailing lists, or go online for any information that I may be searching for. Just because I shop at a store, or restaurant, it doesn't give them the right to give my info to a telemarketing company so I can be called at dinner time, or just as I am reading a bedtime story to my kids. It seems to me that the telemarketing firms are looking for a loophole to continue soliciting people so they can create more revenue for thier companies. If we want to be contacted by individual companies, we should have the opportunity to opt in on thier lists, not the other way around. Do you know how much time and energy it would take to contact all of the companies that call via telemarketers? The Do Not Call List concept is wonderful, and it's purpose would be forgotten if this amendment passes. The countless number of people joining the Do Not Call List should be reason enough to oppose loosening restrictions on telemarketers. In Todays society, we are leading very hectic lives, and value the time we have at home with our families. We do not want to be bothered by telemarketers. They are an intrusion on our lives, and I HIGHLY OPPOSE LOOSENING RESTRICTIONS on Telemarketers. Thank you for your time, ~Teri Speel Wife, Mother, and Teacher
