Regarding trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales, docket #RIN 3084-0098, I OPPOSE the proposed amendment of the Telemarketing Sales Rule to "create an additiional call abandoment safe harbor" for telemarketers. This is an end-run by the telemarketing industry to weaken the consumer protection given us by the Congress. Contrary to what Jesse Crowe, president of Voice Mail Broadcasting, stated, people do not like getting these messages, and I personnally went so far as to get an unplublished number to minimize them as well as having calls with no phone numbers blocked, yet the unethical telemarketers still call without their numbers by using "out of area". The rules need tightened, not weakened. The Federal Communications Commission needs to tighten their rules instead of you loosing yours.
