|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:I wish to state my objection to loosening the restriction on telemarketers. Since any purchase can be considered making an established business relationship, the public will again be deluged with sales calls. Also I am in opposition to amending the TSR’s call abandonment safe harbor provision. Currently, I am seldom bothered by frequent calls with no one on the other end of the telephone, as had been the case before the current regulations. These amendments are the marketers' efforts to circumvent the public's reaction to the marketers' excessive intrusion into the public's homes.
