As a Home Owner and a pivate person, I object very strongly to having my telephone privacy invaded either by a real or unreal person with a sales pitch of any sort. In my opinion I do not believe that, in my mind, I purchase telephone service for any one else to take the liberty to make unsolisited calls to me or leave messages on my recorder. Most citizens read the daily news and read about ads they wish to read and see a very large amount they have no interest in. Its getting so bad now that the Postal Dept. delivers more ads now than it does mail, and the ads or not even addressed to my residence. Even with News papers one gets more printed enclosed ads than News. I tried to just suscribe to the News Paper minus brocure ads and I was told that they cannot sell subscriptions to the News Paper only. My ears and eyes are stuffed with ads and I want it stopped. It's as if we citizens only survive to be force fed with advertisements. I now find all the news I wish to read, and more, on the internet, and a day sooner that the News Papers. Even on the internet one is force fed with annoying popups. However I installed a popup zapper in Sept 04 and it has a counter that shows that it has zapped 3091 pops since Sept 2004. I believe that if a Company or Marketteer has a product that is so superior to anything else, then he should pay the mail rate to put his ad in an envelope addressed to me at my residence, then I will respectfully open the letter and read the ad, else, straight to the garbage can. If the Government does not protect the privacy of individuals, then for myself, I will get a rental mail box, an answering service or cancel the telephone and use VOip on th internet. I get calls now almost daily from Registered Contractors who just happen to be in town and they would like to come by and inspect my property to see if I could use their expert service. My answer to them is that earlier that day ,two Contractors had called and I given them work and I suggested that if they were in town again that they should call earlier in the day. As you can see I am tired of being force fed with ads from anybody by any means. With all my respect, FEDUP
