I am very much opposed to allowing companies to bombard my home with prerecorded telephone pitches or messages. While the companies can automate the procedure, requiring no man-power, I must still answer the phone in person, or choose to screen my calls through an answering machine which is an imposition on me. I should be able to answer my phone knowing that the caller on the other end is someone with whom I wish to speak, someone to whom I voluntarily gave my phone number. What is thr point of unpublished numbers of you allow computerized dialing?
