Please, please, please do not weaken/allow to be weakened the minimal privacy protection we've received from the Do Not Call List. For the people who are trying to get this changed to say that just because I've used my credit card once with a business that now I have an "established business relationship" with them and why would I NOT want to be called to be told of sales, special offers, etc. is absolutely ludicrous. If I'm interested in them, I'll contact them. It's bad enough that I STILL have to screen all my calls so I don't have to talk to these people (even though I signed up for the Do Not Call List the first day it was available), spam is out of control, and these people want to FURTHER weaken privacy regulations?!?!?! DON'T DO IT!!! The American public deserves the protection of our government from these weasels who are just out to exploit our private and personal information so that they can make some more money. And please, don't even THINK about letting them publish directories of our cell phone numbers for them to exploit. Since it costs ME money to RECEIVE a call, there shouldn't even be a question that this should be completely, totally, forever illegal ... it is STEALING from me (MY MONEY that I use to pay MY cell phone bill) and should be immediately made a felony. It's bad enough that I still get faxes advertising someone's business or services that costs me MORE of MY MONEY to pay for paper and ink. This too should be immediately made a felony and all these people should be sent to jail. PLEASE DON"T ALLOW OUR PRIVACY AND PERSONAL INFORMATION TO BE EVEN FURTHER COMPROMISED THAN IT ALREADY IS!!!! Thank you very much for your consideration.
