|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:I am opposed to any "safe harbor" that allows telemarketers to deliver prerecorded or any other type of messages to consumers. The term "established business relationships" is a ridiculous misnomer that benefts only the telemarkter at the consumers expense. The notion that people appreciate hearing from these "relationships" is just as specious. I have never spoke with anyone who appreciates these contacts. The No Call list has been a great success because consumers are fed up with the telemarketing concept as an invasion of privacy. A private phone number should never be an open invitation for solicitation. No Call means No Call.
