From the viewpoint of a person receiving telemarketing calls, the logic behind this amendment is nonexistent. I have signed up with both the state and federal ‘Do Not Call” registries because I do not want the interruptions to my peaceful domicile that these calls produce. It matters not whether it is a computer or a person. Why would that matter? No offense, but to coin a phrase from the Clinton-Bush presidential campaign: It’s the CALL, stupid! Not whether it’s human. It really is that simple. The registries have greatly decreased these hated, telemarketing calls and for that I am so grateful. Don’t ruin this good thing you have done for the average person. Do not pass this amendment. (On the other hand, if you want to leave the public the lasting impression that your agency has been ‘bought’ by the telemarketing industry, passing this amendment will do that perfectly.) Thank You
