Pre-recorded calls, as opposed to live person-to-person calls, are still harassing. Pre-recorded calls might even be perceived as more aggravating, as it shows a lack of effort or real interest on the part of the callers. Allowing a loophole of this sort to form in this otherwise great policy would be a shame. Those of us who registered on the Do-Not-Call list did so in hopes of eliminating ALL telemarketing calls. The fact that we have once done business with a company should not invite a slew of unwanted phone calls, particularly of the pre-recorded variety. Perhaps if the companies lobbying for changes understood that those registered ARE NOT and WILL NEVER BE interested in listening to their spiel, they could save their money and everyone else's time.
