Ammending this regulation would be a huge mistake. Telemarketers would return to business as usual and inacting the original legistation would have been a waste of tax payers time and money. As it is the current level of telemarketer invasions are on the increase with calls made to conduct "research or surveys". If anything we need to stop this activity by tougher regulations, not opening loops holes to allow telemarketers to inflict additional abuse upon the American Public. The American Public deserves to feel safe in the sanctity of the own homes without being bombarded by the invasion of telemarketers. We have had some relief after years of horrible abuse, please do not take this away. Telemarketers show us they could not or would not regulate themselves so the Government stepped in and we the public are thankful please do not reverse the progress we have made. The American Public is fully capable of calling or walking into a business for service when they need it. Allowing those busineses to return to invading the privacy of our homes and interupting valuable "Family Time" is the wrong thing to do. CALVIN R. LANE
