I am writing in regard to the proposed rule change to the 'Do Not Call' list. This list has been immensely popular among Americans and it is because the rules are clear and strong. It is my understanding that there is a gap between the FTC and the FCC regarding call-abandonment rules (with your agency having the stronger), and that there has been some pressure by spam lobbyists to weaken the FTC's rules. It is vital that these rules not change. I agree that the rules should be brought into accord, but as the stronger rules obviously benefit the average American more let the FCC strengthen its rules. I urge the FTC to stay strong on this matter, as you are the only bulwark between a thousand spam calls and my phone.
