Please do not change the guidelines to the Do Not Call Registry! A petition from Voice Mail Broadcasting Corp., a Southern California direct-marketing firm that specializes in blitzing consumers with prerecorded phone messages, would pave the way for widespread use of cheaper prerecorded calls -- in theory, allowing telemarketers to vastly expand the scope of their operations. About 66 million Americans have signed up for the national Do Not Call Registry, clearly and adamantly declaring their desire not to be bothered by telemarketers. Please continue to respect that desire.
