Who did the telemarketer's army of lobbyists payoff to get THIS insanity seriously considered? People on the Do Not Call List mean EXACTLY that... DO NOT CALL US!! We do not CARE if it it a real person or a pre-recorded message! This loophole with completely NEGATE the do not call list and render it impotent. All telemarketers will do is switch to pre-recorded messages to completely get around the law. Further has anyone given any thought to how many people who rely on annoying us with those telemarketing calls as a means of making a living will wind up unemployed as they are replaced by autodialers and tape recorders so the companies thay work for can get around the law? This is typical US goverment in action pass a bill that FINALLY does something positive for the people, bask in the glory of the election votes then take the lobbyest money after the election to gut the bill and count on the voters forgetting before the next election!
