I am outraged that you would even consider allowing prerecorded telemarketer's messages to circumvent the avowed purpose of the National Do Not Call List. It was bad enough answering the phone to the sales speal of a hired telemarketer, most of whom do not even speak good English. But it is even worse to answer the phone to get a prerecorded message--especially when you are in the midst of something much more important. What do you think we registered for? It was to protect our privacy and prevent our time being wasted by answering unwanted telemarketing calls. These telemarketers even get our cell phone numbers. Even incoming calls on a cell phone cost the owner money. If you allow calls on a ESTABLISHED BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP they will find all kinds of ways to expand upon that--as they have already done with email spam. Their ploy there is to say that this mail is sent because you visited their website or that of ONE OF THEIR ASSOCIATES. They form associations especially for this purpose and will no doubt tie in the online sector with the telephone spam if you allow this. Also, do not allow any certain percentage of calls to be unsolicited telemarketer's calls. This requires an invasion of privacy that is unprecedented in our nation's history. Every single phone would be monitored for usage. Our right to privacy would be severely undermined. Thank you for asking for our comments Ed Torrence
