These prerecorded messages are more obnoxious and intrusive than calls made by real people. I DO NOT want to be subjected to either type. Many of these prerecorded messages run many minutes in length, and even if I answer the phone, then hang up on the recorded message, my phone line is still tied up with the recorded message for several minutes-WHEN I AM TRYING TO USE MY PHONE FOR MY BUSINESS OR PERSONAL USE. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS! WHAT IF I NEED TO CALL 911, to report a fire, medical emergency, or a crime???? I am very tired of having to OPT OUT of intrusions into my life. These telemarketing firms/services should be required to have people OPT IN to be hounded for whatever it is these want. I AM ABSOLUTELY AMAZED THAT I MUST NOW OPT OUT ON MY CELL PHONE NUMBER. I am required to pay for every minute of its use, and these people/companies have NO RIGHT to make me pay for the "priveldge" (I use this word very SARCASTICALLY), of listening to thier product/service pitch. I do NOT wish to ever hear a prerecorded message, be it from a politician, company, charity, or whatever. MAKE THEM STOP! If they are willing to pay ME $20 a call and $5 a minute, I might reconsider, otherwise tell them to stop stealing pecious time from my life!
