Dear FTC: We would like to give our views on revising the national do not call rules. We believe the national do-not-call list and/or rules are the best thing that happened to US telecommunication since deregulation. First of all, we would like to thank you for implementing the rule. It has helped our family to enjoy a nice dinner at home together again, without having someone calling us interrupting our dinner to induce us to a new product or a marketing campaign. Secondly, we feel that we can finally keep a home phone again because for many years we were being called every night by three to four soliciting companies to a point that we thought about not keeping a home phone anymore. Furthermore, these calls are usually about something that we do not feel is a decision that we can make over the phone. We often feel exploited by these phone calls and caught off-guard by the questions and decisions being asked of us. Finally, we feel that our home is our sanctuary where we can relax and not be bothered by more advertisements. Ready, when is it enough? We have ads on billboards, signs on freeways and roads, commercials on TV and radio stations. Is there a form of communication where commercialization is not prominent? We truly hope that our country do not take a step backward by creating a safe harbor for telemarketers. Thank you for your time. The Woods San Diego, California Residents
