Comments:
The proposed change to allow "call abandonment safe harbor to allow telemarketing calls that deliver a prerecorded message to consumers with whom the seller on whose behalf the calls are made has an established business relationship." should be given no consideration. These calls are a nuisance and are equivalent to email SPAM. Prior to establishment of the Do Not Call list, I was getting up to 30 of these calls a week. Please do not allow this change. The petition by the Direct Marketing Association should be denied. . .these too are nuisance calls. Prior to the DNC list, I would receive up to 10 of these calls a day and most of them would have no response when I answered the phone. Again, they are the equivalent of email SPAM and should not be inflicted upon the citizens.
