Friends: We oppose the proposal to allow telemarketers to skirt the Do Not Call list restrictions. We do not want calls from any businesses, even those with whom we have a preexisting relationship. And we don't want prerecorded solicitation calls from anyone. We would never give our permission for that! And do not change the safe harbor provision to allow a greater percentage of abandoned calls. When we put our number on the Do Not Call list, we expected the FTC to make sure solicitors do not call us. Period. Just because we might buy an item from a business does not establish a relationship, especially one that invades our home's privacy. Do not allow this exception to a good thing. Please. Sincerely, Ben McClinton and Karen Rosenbaum
