Using my telephone without my specific permission, land line or cell, to solicit my patronage is equivalent to sending me advertisements postage due. I do not deserve such treatment from any company, and expect the government to be diligent in their role as public servants to put an end to such behavior. The government collects taxes on the communications services I purchase. If the Telemarketing Service Firms are allowed to expand their operations, then the government has let me down by making me pay for a portion of their solicitation costs too. Can you really give me one good reason why I would want to expand any rules already imposed on the Telemarketing Service Firms? I will be frank, there are most likely a lot of reasons why the Telemarketing Service Firms want to do this, but there are no good reasons why the taxpayers want to receive this type of service. I will be watching to see if the government is in the pocket of the Telemarketing Service Firms or doing their duty to protect the people who pay them.
