When I placed my home telephone number and cellular phone number on the DO NOT CALL LIST, I meant it. I do not want telemarketing calls from any company, whether or not I have an established relationship with them. I find prerecorded calls particularly intrusive and annoying. Prerecorded calls are even worse than a live telemarketer, who I can tell to take me off of their call list and not to bother me again. The amendment to the Rule does not provide sufficient protection for consumers against unwanted telemarketing calls.
