This would be a tremendous invasion of privacy and basically undo a good part of the "do not call" legislation. Why should any business have the right to do carte-blanche advertising through invading the peace and quiet of peoples' homes Also, if I am home, and I answer the telephone, they would hang up? The taped message from THEM will know that I am not an answering machine? The entire proposal is absurd and the fact that this issue is coming up again and again makes me think that the first legislation was just to placate the consumer, creating a slippery slope. Please, do not let this happen.
