Please do not allow telemarketers to use pre-recorded messages to phone people on the DO NOT CALL LIST. What part of DO NOT CALL does this address? It is the same as getting email spam, which also should not be allowed. A call is a call. After all the annoying phone calls and recorded messages during the election season, please, also eliminate charities and political parties from calling any one on the DO NOT CALL list!!!! During the two weeks prior to the election, I was recovering from a hospital stay and was constantly awakened by the political calls, both pre-recorded and in person. I could not unplug my telephone, as my husband wanted to be able to check on me during his breaks at work. What I needed most was sleep, and what I got the least of during the hours of 9 am to 9 pm was sleep. Remember, a call is a call. When these entities call, it is still that they are looking for something (be it a donation or a vote). In addition to my time and privacy being valuable to me, it can also be a safety issue, as you can often not disconnect a recording until it is completed. If there is an emergency, minutes or even seconds, especially when you live outside of the city limits, may be the difference between life and death. So please do NOT allow any entity to call (or message) a person on the DO NOT CALL list!!!!
