The Do Not Call list rules should not be modified. I believe over 60 million people have signed up for the Do Not Call list. Clearly, the people have made it evident they do not like to get advertising over the phone nor do they like hang ups. Any weakening of the Do Not Call list makes it clear that our government is no longer a government of the people, by the people, for the people. We the people have spoken. If businesses with whom I have a business relationship want to contact me, they can do so in their monthly bill or by mailing a letter to me. Their right to reach me more cheaply is completely trumped by my right to have peace in my home. I do not want their calls!! The abandonment safe harbor should not be modified. There should always be a strict standard for this in order to maintain the Do Not Call list's usefulness and intended purpose.
