Pre-recorded messages are an invasion and an outrage. They use up cell phone minutes costing the receiver money; they use up answering machine time and space, costing the receiver valuable time and money when retrieving messages; they are unavoidable unless the receiver happens to be standing right at the phone to hang up on them. They are never desirable.
