It is extremely intrusive to have unsolicited calls come into the privacy of your home. In many instances people are elderly, ill, work odd hours, are caring for little children, etc. There are many other avenues for advertising, such as TV, radio, magazines and newspapers and even the U.S. mail that are not intrusive and may even illicit a response other than anger because they were not disturbing.
