|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:I fail to see what the reasoning would be to allow these pre-recorded messages onto an individual's answering machine. As with voice calls consumers are not interested in hearing 3 minutes of dialog when they hit play on their answering machine. Whatever lobby prompted this petition should be immediately rejected. It costs electricity and time to listen to a recording on an answering machine. Analagous to junk faxing where a junk fax eats up my toner and paper this costs the consumer for the benefit of the spammers. Absolutely deny this petition.
