I do not wish to get any telemarketer calls, whether I've had business with the company or not. I registered with the DO NOT CALL registery and still receive telemarketer/survey calls. My home phone has a block on it, but the calls still come through, with the option of accepting the calls or not. Bottom line, the phone still rings.
