I oppose any rule that allows telemarketers or business people who make their primary contacts through phone calls to private citizens and residences. This sickening practice was stopped by the do not call list. Even then, some marketers felt that if they failed to provide inadequate indentifying information, that they could evade prosection. In fact the law has not gone far enough to chase these scofflaws down and prosecute them. Any change which would allow marketers to excuse themselves into making these interruptive and often deceptive calls needs to be stopped. Often times these marketers use people to promote products who are not qualified to discuss the product . Stop telemarketing. Stop telemarketing cold. Let them call themselves and share stories about how much they are being prosecuted for being annoying, interruptive, and misleading. They should share a cell together with tin cans and string.
