It is not in the public interest to permit an invasion of the privacy provided by the "Do Not Call List." The public's overwhelming response in joining this list was a mandate against commercial calls - period. As I understand the present proposal the burden is on the public to opt out. Would it not be more appropriate for the commercial interest to secure the permission of the "consumer" to make such calls. I for one would not think of doing business with an company that uses the phone to solicite business or funds.
