I am strongly against any relaxation of telemarketing restriction. I am strongly against allowing pre-recorded telemarketing messages. The current regulations, along with the do-not-call registry, have brought a great relief from unwanted phone calls. I DO NOT desire to EVER receive a telemarketing call from a company, whether or not I am a current customer of theirs. The only phone calls I should receive from a company that I do business with is a direct reply to a request for information that I initiate OR to notify me of a PROBLEM with my account. I know from the people I associate with that the feelings I have expressed are common among the majority of consumers. I have never heard someone express a desire to receive telemarketing calls. In my experience, telemarketing calls are a waste of time for the consumer. Telemarketing companies usually make their money by arguing consumers into a "free" trial period of a product for which the consumer has no need or desire. Usually, by the time the trial period is over, the consumer has forgotten he even agree to it and misses the cancellation deadline. Thus the consumer, in his busy life, is stuck paying for a service he has never needed, will most likely never use, and never intended to purchase. Thank you for your consideration of my opinion. Sincerely, Chris Talley
