I do not think there needs to be any change in the present rules of either the FTC or FCC. As a consumer, I do NOT want to receive telemarketing calls and since the inception of the Do Not Call List, the number of calls I receive has dropped dramatically. I still receive many calls that when answered, no one is on the other end -- I assume those are the automated telemarketing calls that I can't talk to anyone to request my number be removed from their calling list. I try to answer all calls because my mother is in a nursing home and I need to be able to respond in case anything happens. Telemarketing calls are wasted on me because I would not buy any product from anyone who calls to sell me something. If I want a particular product, I will call them for information. Otherwise, leave me alone!!!
