Comments:
The current no call rules have eliminated the unwarranted intrusions on my private life that telemarketers posed. I am extremely happy with the current rules and am opposed to any changes. I pay for the telephone line in my home for my own use. I do not want it preempted and tied up by unscrupulous callers who disturb me all day and all night, not just at dinner time. Buying by phone robs the consumer of the right to comparison-shop for the best buy for him/her, and I would never buy that way. Most, if not all, phone scripts are misleading, starting with "I'm not trying to sell you anything," when there is no other purpose for the call. Please protect my privacy and quality of life.
