Are you protecting the people or business? What is your charge? Oh, I forgot, the Republicans are pro-business. Well what happened to being pro-family? Is it pro-family to have to leave a child in a tub or high chair to answer the phone only to find out it's a telemareketer. Is it pro-family to have to screen ones calls to avoid crap calls possibly missing an important call from a child or sick friend? WE PAY FOR PHONE SERVICE. WE ARE NOT GETTING A FREE SERVICE LIKE TV THAT NEEDS ADVERTIZERS TO SUPPORT IT. WHY SHOULD WE BE REQUIRED TO PAY AND THEN NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER WHO CAN CALL US? Allowing loopholes in the no call legislation and making it easier for companies to use recorded messages is wrong. I have the right to privacy. Sales calls are harrassment. Eventually a good legal team will make millioins suing tele-marketers for harrassment. When that day comes I hope they seek damages from the FTC for failing to protect the public.
