I do NOT want to receive calls from a MACHINE EVER. Under no circumstance do I want the FTC to water down thier rules regarding the 3% stated above. Instead I propose that BOTH the FCC and the FTC rule AGAINST ALL AUTOMATED MACHINE TELEMARKETING phone calls - regardless of the - established business relationship - or not. I'm speaking for myself and my husband, who does not have access to email. FURTHERMORE, I do not want to have to contact the telemarketers to get off their list. I have that problem currently with email and fax spam - if you call the telemarketer, they sell your name on a list to other marketers as an active number. Please consider the fact that it will COST the CONSUMER money to make these return phone calls. Not just on their phone bill, but their TIME. The FTC is a consumer protection organization - not a Let's help businesses save money - organization. If it costs businesses money, perhaps they will make fewer calls - or abandon telemarketing as a business strategy - I'M FOR THAT!
