I am strongly against ANY weakening of the Telemarketing Sales Rule. I do not want telemarketing companys calling me for any reason. I especially do not want to receive pre-recorded messages. In my opinion, Telemarketers are a public nuisance and should not even be allowed to operate. At worst, they prey on lonely and unsuspecting senior citizens as I experienced first hand with my elderly mother. At best, they are extremely annoying, blithely tying up the recipients phone and time and often interrupting one's dinner as well. They offer no service that could not be performed via the US Mail. Please do not back peddle on this issue.
