Dear FTC, Please do not weaken your stringent policy to fall in line with the FCC. Allowing this loop hole to take effect is just another win for big business and another blow to the consumer who had found some solace in the Do not call registry. By weakening your policy to allow a higher percentage of pre-recorded telemarketing calls you would in fact increase the over all volume of telemarketing calls in total, therefore leaving the do not call registry ineffective. Please take into account the amount of time the consumer is having to lose by answering the phone - more than 30 seconds total to interrupt dinner, leave the table, walk to the phone, answer it etc and now how do we have the option of communicating with the telemarketer to ask to be on their do not call list? You are leaving the consumers helpless and taking more of our time and money to save the telemarketing companies money? That seems incredibly unfair and not at all in the spirit of the FTC.
