|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:Please do not weaken the rules and laws regarding the do-not-call list. If anything, we need to make them stronger. The number of telemarketing calls has greatly decreased but I'm still getting calls from businesses who start out claiming they "aren't trying to sell me anything" (but who really are) and who somehow think that by doing so they aren't in violation. Or local businesses, home contractors and the like, who still make telemarketing calls, offering to come by and give an estimate. We need more protections, not lessened ones. Please do not allow pre-recorded calls. Please do not make other changes that would potentially increase telemarketing. Thank you.
