I am already receiving way too many phone calls as it is. Sometimes as late in the evening as 9:00p.m. It is a total intrusion on my privacy at home. I have had caller ID installed to try and manage them..but why should I have to incur an expense to control something that should be controled on a higher level. When I have been home from work sick, the last thing I want is the phone ringing 7-8 times a day only to have it be a telemarketer. I am home for a reason. To get some rest and get better, but unless I shut the phone off, rest is the last thing I am able to do. I have asked the telemarketer to stop calling, but they just usually hang-up. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT MAKING THE CURRENT SITUATION BETTER, NOT WORSE!!!!! If you allow pre-recorded messages there will be no stopping these companies, and I will probably get a cell phone and shut my home phone off completely. That might sound a bit extreme, but so is opening up the flood gates, which is what you are considering.
