|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:I do not want this amendment to the telemarketing sales rule. If, however, this amendment is to be made, I would like restrictions on the frequency of calls a specific company can make to the same phone number. For instance, a company can only call the same number once every six months. And this must be enforcable; requiring telemarketers to actually track the calls made so that multiple calls from AT&T (as an example) cannot all be made during the same week. If one call is made on behalf of AT&T, then no other calls to that number can be made on behalf of AT&T for at least 6 months. Tracking calls is not likely to be cost effective, but if the amendment is to be made, this type of protection is necessary to prevent misuse of the relaxed restricions proposed.
