If this rule change is allowed, it will place an undue burden on a consumer to be removed from a telemarketers call list. With a voice call, you have the potential to demand removal from their list. If the call is automated, no such opportunity exists and would require that a consumer capture the call information, somehow trace it to the telemarketing company and then rely on their honor to remove you from their call list. History has shown that these companies will infrequently remove your information from their list, but do not prevent the re-sale of your information.
