Comments:
I strongly urge the FTC to protect my ability as a consumer to receive notifications from various companies that I do business with. For example, I enjoy the efficiencies that are gained from automated notifications that I get from Delta Air Lines when a flight has been rescheduled or canceled. While I am not a proponent of calls from agents that are trying to sell me something, I have become increasingly accustomed and dependent on pro-active communications (pre-recorded, live or textual) from companies in which I have a current relationship or pending transaction...such as my pharmacy, mortgage company, bank, airline, power company, etc. I find these intelligent alerts to be a very productive method of communication and encourage its continued use and expansion. Please consider this point of view as the FTC continues to define the appropriate use of automated technology within the jurisdiction of the TSR. Sincerely, Charles Baird
